Tales from the Track

In my opinion Movies have a lot to offer apart from entertainment..

Cars is a movie which I have been forced to see a thousand times as this was the movie to be played in TV Mobile or Laptop for if my son had to eat anything :-) . If you have not seen this movie, it is worth a watch.. (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_UT-Xnb241c)

Lighting McQueen is a Red race car. He is a rookie sensation and is in the top 3 race cars to win the Piston Cup.

Tales from the track..

Its not over till its over

There are 3 main contenders for the Piston cup, "The King", he has been champion for many years and looking retire after this final race. "Chick Hicks" has been tired of coming in second and is ready to do anything to win the race. Lighting McQueen a rookie sensation is speeding across the track, even a pile up caused by Chick hicks does not slow him down..

All racers took pit stop for gas and tire but McQueen keeps going, ignores the warning from his crew that he needs new tires. McQueen leads the race by almost a lap, he is in the last lap and his tires blow out, King and Chick catch up to the Red race car. McQueen sticks his tongue out in effort to reach the finish line first, it ends up in a 3 way tie..

What I learn : You may be the wittiest, fastest, most capable person but if you don't take a break, recharge yourself, get yourself some new skills that will keep you going, you will exhaust yourself and stand to loose the race !!!

New Kid in town

McQueen thinks he does not need headlights as the race track is always lit.. One night as he was being transported to the next race, due to an accident he finds himself on the highway .. Unable to track his truck he loses his way in the dark and gets into Radiator Springs a small little town in the middle of nowhere. He ends up crashing into things and messing up the road ..

The Judge decides that he cannot leave the town until the road is fixed. McQueen had to pull a big road paving machine and it was hard work. He makes fun of the townsfolk's and finally when the road is done he has many new friends.

What I learn : You may be familiar with something and be very comfortable .. Life will throw you suddenly into uncertainties - you need your vision and focus (headlight) without which you will be lost. When you are in difficult situations - it is hard work that pulls you out of the ditches. When you do your work, not only look at what you are gaining but also try to understand put efforts to make the world a better place (Innovation that matters - for our company and for the world) - you will make a lot of friends in this approach

Driving Lessons

McQueen thought he was a hot shot race car, but there were many things he had to learn. He did not know how to take sharp turns on dirt.. Luckily Mater was there to pull him out of the ditch. McQueen did not know how to drive backwards until he knew what is needed.. "Rear view mirrors "

The most important lesson came from Doc Hudson - it is not only important to win a championship to be a great friends means more than winning races..

What I learn : Look for what other things might come your way - keep learning from your environment, it is not always possible to have someone who will pull you out of trouble. You need tools to succeed. You need compassion to succeed in life and success is also always relative..
